TB500 or Thymosin Beta 4 plays many important roles including the induction of tissue remodelling, wound healing in cell and tissue injuries, and cell differentiation via mechanisms that have yet to be fully understood.
TB-500 is a synthetic form of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring peptide present in virtually all animal cells. This powerful peptide is a member of a family of 16 related molecules found in most tissues and circulating cells in the body. TB-500 binds to actin, a cell-building protein, it also blocks actin polymerization.
Studies have shown that TB-500 is a potent wound repair factor with anti-inflammatory properties which occurs naturally. Thymosin Beta 4 is a little different from other repair factors, like growth factors, in that it will promote endothelial and keratinocyte migration. It also doesn’t bind to the extracellular matrix and having a very low molecular weight means it can travel relatively long distances through tissues.
